Diamond Creek Yurt
This quaint little yurt at the Diamond Creek State Recreation Site is an excellent, easy-access, get-a-way for the rustic at heart. With immediate access to both hiking and biking trails, guests will get fantastic views of Kachemak Bay and Cook Inlet and their mountains. Managed and maintained by Homer Cycling Club, all proceeds will go directly back into the upkeep of trails and Park facilities.
$75 per night (non-refundable)
LOCATION: The Diamond Creek State Recreation Site is located on the south side of the Sterling Highway at mile post 167. Drive 1 mile down the gravel road, and then proceed by bike or foot 1/4 mile beyond the boulders. Here’s a google pin for reference.
CAPACITY: 6 people. There are 2 bunks, lower bunk is a double, upper bunk is a single.
WATER: It’s recommended you bring water to drink. There is a rain barrel (installed 7/7/2024) the water from which should be treated.
FIRES: Do not cut down standing trees, alive or dead, for firewood. It is recommended users bring firewood from home. Make sure all fires are completely out.
HEAT: Currently there is no heat source in the yurt. Please bring appropriate gear for ambient temperature. No unsanctioned heat source may be used inside the yurt.
PETS: All pets must be leashed or tethered while on Parks property. Please clean up after your pets.
FOOD: Cook all food outside of the yurt on the deck. Store anything with odors (ie. food, toothpaste, sunscreen, etc.) in the bear box/job box provided.
LEAVE NO TRACE: It is the users responsibility to pack out any garbage and belongings. Please leave the yurt cleaner than you found it.
